12-Lead ECG Course Description

The Art of Interpretation

Nurses and medical practitioners must know how to quickly and accurately interpret any ECG, and our 12-Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) course ensures each participant walks away with the basic foundations for interpretation. This interactive, instructor-based course will teach you to understand pattern recognition in readings and use the recordings for cardiac electrophysiology.

Technical Details

During this AHA ECG course, you will learn or review the proper protocol for 12-lead ECG placement. Our ECG placement techniques will show you precisely where to stick limb leads on the arms and legs of your patients and precordial leads across a patient's torso or precordium.

You'll learn optimized techniques like the quadrant method and how to handle axis deviations to get the best view of your patient and better address their concerns. You will even use case studies to apply your ECG interpretation training to real-life scenarios.

Course Requirements and Prerequisites

Before you learn 12-lead ECG, we recommend taking a basic ECG course. This course will help you develop essential skills in reading and understanding ECGs, which are more complex with 12 leads. As the course progresses, you'll learn to detect various pathological or physiological issues like:
