12-Lead ECG Course Description

The Art of Interpretation

The 12 Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) is an instructor-based interactive 12 Lead ECG class that gives you the basic foundations for 12-Lead interpretation. In a 12-Lead ECG course, you will delve deeper into the world of ECG Interpretation by learning to understand pattern recognition and how the recordings are directly related to cardiac electrophysiology.

In this ECG/EKG course, you will learn about the proper 12 Lead ECG placement. A standard ECG has 12 leads, six of the leads are considered “limb leads” and they are placed on the arms and/or legs of the patient. The remaining six leads are considered “precordial leads” and they are placed on the person’s torso (precordium).

The 12-Lead ECG course typically requires a prerequisite of a Basic ECG course, which will provide you with the skills to be able to read and understand the basics of the ECG. As you become more skilled throughout your course, you will learn how to detect different pathological and physiological problems such as, genetic disorders, hypothermia, myocardial infarction, and structural heart disease.
