For American Red Cross and American Heart Association Instructors

As an instructor representing nationally recognized lifesaving organizations, you hold a position of trust and influence. The following Code of Conduct outlines the professional and ethical standards expected of all instructors affiliated with our training programs.

πŸ”’ 1. Professional Integrity

  • Deliver accurate, evidence-based instruction as outlined by the American Red Cross and/or AHA guidelines.
  • Never falsify records, certifications, or training completion documents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and training records.

πŸ‘©β€πŸ« 2. Commitment to Quality Instruction

  • Ensure all classes meet or exceed the curriculum and standards of the certifying body.
  • Begin and end all classes on time, with full course content delivered.
  • Use only approved training materials, videos, and equipment.
  • Maintain current instructor certifications and required renewals.

🀝 3. Respectful and Inclusive Environment

  • Treat all students, co-instructors, and partners with respect, dignity, and fairness.
  • Create an inclusive learning space, free from harassment, discrimination, or intimidation.
  • Be patient and supportive with learners of all backgrounds and abilities.

🧰 4. Equipment and Safety

  • Maintain clean, functional, and up-to-date training equipment (manikins, AED trainers, etc.).
  • Follow infection control and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Ensure all students are trained in a safe and properly supervised environment.

πŸ“‹ 5. Ethical Business Practices

  • Be transparent about course arrangements, cancellation policies, and paperwork submission timelines.
  • Do not engage in deceptive marketing or false representation.
  • Refrain from using your instructor role for personal gain beyond agreed compensation; do not advertise your own or a competing companies business in Lifework Education classes.
  • Represent only Lifework Education or our valued partners when teaching for us.

βš–οΈ 6. Accountability and Compliance

  • Report any incidents, concerns, or violations to program administrators promptly.
  • Cooperate with audits, evaluations, or investigations conducted by the Red Cross, AHA, or authorized training center.
  • Understand that violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or revocation of instructor status.
